在南头古城的村与公园之间，在双年展的室内展示厅之外的空地，搭建一个户外的篷子空间，基本结构是以木、竹、藤条搭建成的篷子。这个空间，也构成连接两个展示空间的通道，从功能上说是提供讨论，播放活动的空间。“村雨”项目将在这个空间中将开展系列研究工作，主要观测居住和工作在珠三角某些城市社区及郊区村落艺术群体，如何针对社区社会环境进行工作，以及他们自身生存的情况。此研究不仅针对艺术人群从事社会实践情况，而且由于他们自己生活在社区环境中，也针对他们的社会实践和生存之间的关系。而通过对这些艺术群体的研究，期待能折射或者说“带出”对这些地区居住人群的生存状态的展现。本次研究项目将由西三电影制片厂（广州西三）、鳌湖艺术村（深圳）、上阳台（广州）三个项目构成。


“西三电影制片厂”强调专属观众“村民”，它是几个艺术家建立起来的联合集体行动，一个西三村问题的影像加工厂。他们用媒体的方式在西三村做田野，尝试让影片成为一种公共的“消息”在村里流转。更或是成为一个村子的第三方“媒体”，在未来的某一天，能够使他们与村民手拉手一起做一些应然的事。

观澜鳌湖老村，建于清末，原是一座有着百年之久的客家村落。从2013年至今，逐渐形成一个除少量原住民、各类型外来打工人员和拾荒者外，以艺术群落为主体的艺术村。既是艺术家又是村民的邓春儒组织了一系列村落艺术活动，并持续展开大量专门为周边村落社区服务的艺术文化活动，而对社区居住者直接发生作用。

上阳台SJT是黄边站在2016年发起的平台性、共治的实践空间项目，2017年正式创立，选址在海珠区昌岗地铁站附近的晓园新村。我们希望来自不同领域的才能在其中共振，这意味着需匹配超出惯习、自身即是一种实践的运营、组织和决策机制，也意味着要发明其他突破固有想象的方法，使上阳台成为持续地联结与释出能量的有机生物。




In the open space between the village and the park of Nantou Ancient Town and outside the indoor exhibition hall, a tent made of wood, bamboo, and rattan is built. The tent constitutes a connection between the two exhibition spaces, and in terms of functions, it creates a space for discussion and video playing.

The Village Rain Project will be carried out in the tent. It mainly looks into artist groups living and working in certain urban communities and suburban villages in the Pearl River Delta region, such as how they deal with communities, and how they live there. The project will focus on not only the social practice of the artists, but also the relationship between their social practice and lives as they are living in the places where they work. It is hoped that the study will reflect, or display what life is like for people represented by the artists in these places. The research project will consists of sub-projects, namely Xisan Film Studio (Xisan, Guangzhou), Newwho Art Village (Shenzhen), and SoengJoengToi (Guangzhou).


Xisan Film Studio focuses on the villagers as its exclusive audience. It is an image processing studio jointly established by several artists to reflect issues happened in Xisan Village. They do field work in the village by means of media, attempting to make the film a kind of public information or even a third party media throughout the village. They expect to do something together with the villagers some day in the future.

Guanlan Aohu Old Village was built in the late Qing Dynasty. Since 2013, it has developed gradually from a century-old Hakka village to an art village dominated by art colonies, supplemented by a few indigenous people, all kinds of migrant workers, and scavengers. Deng Chunru, who is an artist as well as a member of the village, organized a series of village art activities and continued to organize a great number of art and culture activities for communities in peripheral villages to directly influence the community residents.

SoengJoengToi (SJT) is HB Station’s practical space project, a platform-dependent and synergic project initiated in 2016, officially founded in 2017. It’s located in Changgang subway station, Haizhu District, close to the Xiaoyuan  New Village. We hope talents from different areas can resonate, and this effort means to select beyond habits, a mechanism which is an operation, organization and decision-making of practice itself, also means to invent other ways to break through inherent imagination, so that SoengJoengToi can be an organic organism to continue to link and release its own energy.
